Service

Service is one of the Augustinian Values.  These are some of the different events/groups that allow students to embody this key aspect of the Augustinian Values. 

Service Team

This team is a group of students that plan different service events throughout the year. This group works closely with local community organizations to build relationships and engage our campus in community outreach. 

Mack Gives Back

Mack Gives Back is the largest school wide day of service that Merrimack offers. This student run event brings people from different clubs, organizations, athletic teams, faculty, staff and alumni together to pack over 150,000 nonperishable meals. Mack Gives Back takes place over veterans' day weekend to honor those who served by serving others. 

MLK Jr Day of Service

MLK Jr. Day of Serice is an annual event that honors Martin Luther King Jr's life and legacy of service and social justice. All members of the Merrimack community are invited to participate in the Build A Bed event while reflecting on issues of injustices in the world today. 

Sweeps Week

Sweeps Week is a campus wide donation drive that takes place during the last week of the spring semester. As students move out, we collect nonperishable food items, school supplies, furniture, clothing and household goods, all that are in good condition. These items are collected and sorted by students, faculty and staff and then donates to local community organizations. 

Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive

In the Fall, we host a Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive. Different groups can donate baskets, or they can donate time and set up the baskets to be sent out to different families in need. 

Holiday Toy Drive

The Holiday Toy Drive happens annually around the holiday season. Member of the Merrimack community are invited to purchase gifts that help to support local families in need. 

Hike of Hope

Campus Ministry worked with The Lazarus House in Lawrence and got some volunteers to Hike of Hope to help pass out t-shirts and set up the event. 

Weekly Service Opportunities

We offer various monthly and weekly service opportunities in the local community. Students serve at Cor Unum Meal Center, Lazarus House Soup Truck, Lazarus House Family Center and more at various times throughout the semester
